Our First Unforgettable San Francisco Bark Yappy Hour
Author: Tobey and Percy

Our First Bark Yappy Hour
Recently Percy and I went to our very first Yappy Hour in San Francisco. It was hosted by the “dog crazy people” of BARK, a New York based company that is best known for their monthly subscription service for all-natural dog treats and super cool themed dog toys.
Since most of our Pawfect Strangers Squad lives in the New York area, we often hear about all the fun dog-friendly events, like Open Bark Night, and have had so much FOMO! So when we heard there was going to be a BARK Yappy Hour in our very own town on May 30th, we barked at the chance and made our staff sign us up immediately for the event. Held at Black Hammer Brewing on Bryant Street, proceeds from the evening went to support Friends of San Francisco Animal Care & Control (SF ACC). Included with each entry fee was one craft beer for our staff and one Barkshop Dog Toy of our choice. Not too shabby for $15!
Made New Fur Friends
We arrived fashionably late wearing some super fly hoodies for the occasion. The venue was packed wall-to-wall with humans and dogs alike, big and small. We went hoping to meet some of our Instagram friends at the event and we were not disappointed!
The highlight of our evening was meeting our friends @mavisthemutt and then we totally FANBOYED over meeting @bringrootoo! We also made some new furiends to connect with on Instagram like @louiethecorgster, @yukipomsky and Yuki’s sister @eebstagrams.
To top the night off, our furiend @mavisthemutt’s Pawrents won the special raffle. At the end of the night, we each got to choose our Barkshop toy. Our staff chose the absolutely pawdorable Andi’s Famous Plush Dumplings and equally pawtastic Officer Pupke, both very popular quality dog toys.

Our Final Thoughts
Ultimately, we give our first Yappy Hour four paws up. Not only did we meet some cool IG friends IRL, but we also got some super sweet toys that we’ve been coveting for a long time. Yaaaaasssss! We truly hope that more companies like BARK will be holding dog-friendly events in the Bay Area. There is a niche community of dog lovers and their pups here that are just chomping at the bit to engage with each other!
