Getting ready for BlogPaws 2018 Conference
Author: Ralph the Mini Cockapoo
“Pets, Passion, and People” are the core values of BlogPaws and it’s incredible community of pet professionals. This year will be our first time attending the BlogPaws Conference, which is being held in Kansas City, Missouri. We are thrilled about this experience and are eager to learn about blogging from industry experts.
We took great care in preparing for our first BlogPaws conference. The three key areas we focused on in order to get ready were:
- Grooming
- Fashion
- Networking
Grooming
The day before our flight, I took Ralph to our favorite groomers, Queen City Canine Design, located here in Charlotte, NC. They do a fabulous job and always take very good care of Ralph! They give him what I like to call a “Teddy Bear” haircut, which keeps his face round and cleans up the fur length of his ears. With all of the photo-ops moments there will be at BlogPaws, I had to make sure Ralph was looking his very best!
Fashion
The other component of looking your best and making a good first impression is fashion. For Ralph, I ordered him two new bow ties from Chase And Chauncey a local dog accessory business in Raleigh, NC. They have so many great choices and made a custom blue seersucker bow tie at our request! The key thing I love about their bow ties is that they have 2 elastic pieces on the back to help keep the bow tie in place.
I also made sure to pack our favorite navy cotton leash from Sleepy Cotton, and our best Barkholic hoodies. When flying with Ralph, I also take extra care to pack his food, extra treats, a couple favorite toys, and puppy pads (just in case). To prepare myself I made sure to pack some comfy walking shoes and a elegant dress for the Red Carpet and Nose-to-Nose Awards Event on the last night of the conference.
Networking
Networking and building relationships is the key area that motivated us to attend the BlogPaws conference in the first place. We are looking forward to meeting new bloggers and their pets, and hopefully making some lasting friendships.
In order to help with networking we ordered custom business cards and stickers from MOO.com. I chose to go with the “mini” business cards which measure 2.75″ x 1.10” and took advantage of Moo’s Printfinity option, which allows you to print a different image on the back of every single card at no extra cost. I also chose to order a set of stickers with one of my favorite photos of Ralph, I thought these would be fun to exchange with other attendees!
See you in Kansas City!
